Isoptin (Verapamil) should be taken exactly as prescribed. It must not be taken in on a larger or smaller dosage than what was prescribed and the label must be followed properly.
The dosage may be adjusted according to needs for better results. Extended release tablets or capsule must not be chewed or crushed, it should be swallowed whole.
If there is difficulty upon swallowing the medication, inquire health care provider if it is safe to open the capsule or crush the medication to mix it with soft food or liquid to ensure ease in taking the medication.
